Meta Is Paying Big for New Talents Seeking Entry-Level Jobs Starting at Over $200,000

According to Fortune, one of Meta’s listings for a Software Engineer (Product) role starts at $178,000 and only asks for one year of coding experience.
Another, the Software Engineer (Fullstack) position, starts at $176,000 and only requires completion of one internship, research project, or university course in languages or frameworks like Python, C++, React, PHP, and Hack.
Even more impressively, a third software engineering position pays a whopping $258,000 for candidates with just 12 months of experience.
Meta’s AI Ambition and Big Pay Strategy
Meta’s recent hiring spree isn’t just about filling seats it’s about fueling its AI revolution. With a market cap of $1.83 trillion, Meta has been aggressively competing for top AI talent, even poaching engineers from Apple and OpenAI with record-breaking offers.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made it clear that he prizes skill and adaptability over formal credentials. In a 2024 interview with Bloomberg, he noted that he values people who can “learn something and take it to an excellent level.”
His vision is backed by massive investments including a $14.3 billion stake in Alexandr Wang’s Scale AI. In a June memo to staff, Zuckerberg called the partnership “the beginning of a new era for humanity,” emphasizing his commitment to ensuring Meta leads the AI frontier.
