Purpose of the Job
The Secretary will provide essential secretarial and clerical support services to supervisors or departments, ensuring smooth and effective operations within the AU’s Abuja office.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
1. Diploma in Administrative Services, Office Management, Secretarial or Clerical Studies with 3 years of relevant experience in government, public sector, or international organizations.
2. Alternatively, Bachelor’s Degree in the same fields with 2 years of relevant experience.
3. Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
Languages
1. Proficiency in one AU working language (Arabic, English, French, Kiswahili, Portuguese, or Spanish) is mandatory.
2. Fluency in an additional AU working language will be considered an added advantage.
Remuneration and Benefits
The AU offers a competitive compensation package that goes beyond the basic salary of US\$ 12,834.00 (GSA4 Step 1) per annum. Additional entitlements include:
1. Post adjustment allowance (57% of basic salary).
2. Housing allowance: US\$ 16,813.00 per annum.
3. Education allowance: Up to US\$ 10,000.00 per eligible dependent child (for internationally recruited staff).
ii. Up to US\$ 3,300 per eligible dependent child (for locally recruited staff).
